a few of my fav things(last updated april 2005):
~ music... just about anything you can throw at me, most especially live music ~ travelling ~ espresso; but a strong black Latino coffee will do nicely ~ stained-glass windows ~ watching the sky (especially the night sky) ~ picnics of baguette, salami, cheese and wine by the water ~ flying ~ cats ~ pearls and amber ~ French wines and European beers and Italian mineral waters ~ sunrise ~ cheeses...may well be my favorite food ~ limestones ~ Impressionism ~ lost afternoons in museums ~ maps ~ mystery stories (thanks to Nancy Drew and Harriet, The Spy) ~ thunderstorms, but i’m afraid of lightning :/ ~ kind people ~ long healthy hair ~ parfum by Guerlain ~ unscented candles ~ music on vinyl... but, i really wish i had an iPod for all my MP3 files :p ~ lilacs and irises. jonquil and daisies, too. ~ walking barefooted on moss.... mmmmm, love that feel under my feet ~ knowing what occurs ‘behind the scenes’ in order to make it all happen

~ i’m a morning person; there's something rather nice about seeing the day begin
~ i’m not a vegetarian, but i don’t like meat on pizza
~ i think cold pizza or re-heated Chinese food makes a suitable breakfast
~ i once made up a pretty good Creme of Asparagus and Garlic Soup
~ my Zodiac sign is Cancer, the Crab... i am a Moon child
~ i was born in the year of the Rooster ..."indicates a person who is hard-working and definite about their decisions. Roosters are not afraid to speak their minds and can therefore sometimes come across as boastful. They make good restaurant owners and world travellers.".... hmmm, not sure about being definite about my decisions ;), but i think i can agree with the rest :p
~i was born in the month of June and 18 years later graduated high school in the month of June.... here's the cool part (at least, i think it's cool) - the year i graduated high school is the inverse of the year i was born B-)
~ i love mountains, fresh water streams and trees with leaves that change color in Autumn. but, for the last dozen years, i live in subtropical Florida, USA.... i’m now a flatlander surrounded by saltwater and palm fronds life sure can take one on an ironic twist, sometimes :/
~ growing up, all i ever wanted to do was leave my Pennsylvania small hometown farming community and travel the big wide world.... i still want to travel the big wide world, but i'm homesick for my Pennsylvania small hometown farming community :\
~ i collect hand-painted Italian pottery, Italian food is my favorite cuisine and the Italian language falls on my ears like music. but, i’ve never been to Italy. yet.
~ i do not excel at public speaking, cannot sing and i’m not much for crowds, but my fantasy is to be a Rock Star and end each show hearing the adoring crowd chanting my name as i finish my third encore.....
~ i dream of making a positive difference somewhere with somebody in this world
~ i’ve been lucky enough to have done cross-country camping through the USA, also Ontario, New Brunswick and the Maritime Provinces of Canada. i’ve been to Guatemala (twice) as a geology/cultural anthropology student. cruised the Caribbean (countless times, especially the Bahamas). lived in beautiful Switzerland 3 years and visited Southern France often, also made a short jump into Germany. made my first trip to the U.K. and Ireland in ‘78 and toured with motorbike, backpack and tent in the cold rain and, more recently, made my way back to Ireland, again in june 2002; toured by rental car and stayed in hotels that time around :) Ireland is truely a magically enchanted country. oh, Van Morrison was right.... there are 43 different shades of green in Eire.
~ *big sigh* there are soooooooooo many more destinations on my places-to-visit wishlist
~ i dig music, especially rock music performed live and LOUD. been to countless shows, (i forget more than i can remember. memory problem? who me? lol) in my lifetime, beginning in the mid-‘70’s when the music industry was still cool. . .
~ ever really listen to George Michael's 'Freedom 90' without watching the video? (albeit, the video is a gorgeous masterpiece of irony-in-motion) what a freakin' great song capturing all that is pure about the art of lyrics, meaning, vocal interpretation, accomplished musicianship, mixing of musical sounds to bring the whole vibe together and brave honesty that talks to all the uncoolness that is the biz... ... and, it's got a good beat; easy to dance to :p
~ i love the feel of the warm sun on my face and cool breeze in my hair. but, i love the safe comforting sensations of rainy days. and, i find rainbows enchanting
~ i don’t look to be rescued by a Knight in Shining Armor.... but, it does sound pretty good to Live Happily Ever After with one :)

~ some people say i annoyingly and overtly try to balance everything. maybe i do, but then, maybe i don’t. not sure...gotta think about that.
~ the first albums i bought were Black Sabbath 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath'; Carly Simon 'No Secrets'; Jethro Tull 'Aqualung'; and, Led Zeppelin 'IV'
~ 'Immigrant Song' is the first Led Zeppelin song i remember hearing... WLS Chicago Radio station
~ in '76, i paid much money to have my hair cut and permed into a big ‘Fro..... and still have a pic to prove it
~ although never into the Disco scene at_all, i've always digged listening to Donna Summer.... still do, too. and, Patti LaBelle. oh, and, Wild Cherry's 'Play That Funky Music'... man, this song totally grooves
~ i also like ‘Macarena’ by Los Del Rios and have the single of the Bayside Boys mix (with Matrix ‘Can You Feel It’)
~ enjoying Michael Jackson's and Christina Aguilera's music and videos are among my 'guilty pleasures'
~ i have 21 language translations dictionaries on my bookshelf
~ my ‘desk’ is a Poplar wood drop-leaf table pushed up against a child’s 5-drawer Pine wood desk. it works for me
~ i believe that fairy tales really exist
~ i get excited by looking at rocks, especially sedimentary rocks with paleo-bio-environmental features
~ some favorite books include: J.R.R. Tolkien's 'Lord Of The Rings' trilogy L. ~ i still want to believe that Carlos Castaneda's writings of Don Juan are based upon true anthropology and valid enthnographic studies
~ one of my fav movies is ‘Flashdance’
~ 'Romancing The Stone' is just about my favorite movie
~ 'It's A Wonderful Life' with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed is my all-time fav movie
~ the ending of the film ‘Boogie Nights’ makes me giggle like a schoolgirl :p
~my favorite vegetable is Brussels Sprouts... steamed al dente, then tossed in butter with fresh chopped garlic
~ i furnished my home by shopping at flea markets, second-hand shops and refurbishing wooden furniture others have thrown out for trash
~ there is not one piece of fiberboard, pressed-wood or plastic furniture in my home
~ i have 2 old sewing machines but don't like to sew
~ i have yet to learn how to iceskate, rollerskate, skateboard or surf - but, i can ride a bicycle (since the age of 9).... got a black Peugeot beach bike and call it Black Beauty
~ i have old mirrors in every room of my house - btw, ever look into an old mirror and wonder who else has looked into the same mirror over the years?
~ i do not know how to change the oil in my car, but i can change a flat tire
~ i sleep too much when depressed; i get too boisterous when happy
~ despite living in Florida for years, i do not have a tan
~ i've been a U2 fan ever since i saw the video for ‘Gloria’ and my fav U2 album is ‘The Unforgettable Fire’ with ‘Achtung Baby’ running a close second :) i really get into 'How To Disable An Atomic Bomb' a whole lot, too
~ one of my long-time favorite U2 songs is 'Indian Summer Sky'
~ for years, my message on the answering machine has been: “it’s a Beautiful Day, don’t let it get away”... thought of changing it to: "it's about peace and love and good happiness stuff", but, i like the responses i get from wrong numbers too much to risk changing it :)
~ i find the the music of Steve Vai very multi-dimensional and spiritual... wish i woulda remembered to tell him this when i met him
~ living through the 2004 Florida hurricane season reinforced my respect for the powers of Mother Nature
~ thanks to a very nice friend, i am now a proud Mac user and don't ever wanna go back to relying on a Windows PC machine B-)
~ i regularly listen to podcasts on my computer.... i love the continuing evolution of communication and media technology
